We’re planning to introduce push notifications to the WorkNinja mobile app, helping staff stay informed about important activity without needing to constantly check the system.Potential improvements include:<ul><li>iOS &amp; Android notifications – receive WorkNinja alerts directly on supported mobile devices.</li><li>Job updates – notify staff about relevant changes to jobs, schedules and assignments.</li><li>Customer communications – alert users when new customer messages or replies require attention.</li><li>Direct navigation – tapping a notification can take the user straight to the relevant job or area of WorkNinja.</li><li>In-app alerts – surface important updates when the WorkNinja app is already open.</li></ul>The aim is to make WorkNinja more proactive, ensuring field staff and office users can respond quickly to important updates wherever they are.

We’re planning to introduce annual leave management within WorkNinja to make it easier for teams to request, approve and track staff holidays.Potential improvements include:<ul><li>Holiday requests from the app – allow staff to submit annual leave requests directly through WorkNinja.</li><li>Approval workflows – assign line managers who can review and approve or decline requests.</li><li>Holiday allowance tracking – show each staff member their annual entitlement, leave taken and remaining allowance.</li><li>Manager visibility – give managers a clear view of upcoming and approved leave across their team.</li><li>Scheduling awareness – help ensure approved leave is reflected when planning staff availability and job schedules.</li></ul>The aim is to keep holiday management in the same system used for day-to-day workforce planning, reducing the need for separate spreadsheets or HR tools.

Staff Annual Leave Management

We’re exploring vehicle and asset management features to give businesses greater visibility of their fleet and equipment within WorkNinja.Potential improvements include:<ul><li>Vehicle tracking – view the current or recent location of company vehicles through integration with compatible tracking hardware.</li><li>Vehicle management – keep key vehicle information and records together within WorkNinja.</li><li>Staff &amp; vehicle allocation – associate vehicles and assets with individual team members where required.</li><li>Map visibility – make vehicle location information available alongside scheduling and job management.</li></ul>This would likely integrate with a third-party GPS tracking provider/device, allowing WorkNinja to use vehicle location data without requiring businesses to replace their existing operational workflows.

We’re exploring improved support for businesses that operate multiple companies, branches or divisions within a wider group.Potential improvements include:<ul><li>Parent and child companies – manage multiple businesses under a single group structure.</li><li>Centralised administration – allow group-level users to access and manage multiple companies from one account.</li><li>Company-level separation – keep customers, jobs, staff and financial information separated where required.</li><li>Shared resources – allow selected staff, services or settings to be shared across multiple businesses.</li><li>Group reporting – view performance at individual company level or across the wider group.</li><li>Flexible permissions – control which companies and information different users can access.</li></ul>The aim is to make WorkNinja suitable for larger organisations and growing businesses that need to manage multiple operating companies without maintaining completely separate systems.

Multi-Company & Group Management

We’re improving how VAT is managed within WorkNinja to better support different VAT treatments and accounting integrations.Businesses will be able to configure their VAT status, choose the VAT treatments they use, set default VAT behaviour and map these against their accounting software.For businesses that are not VAT registered, VAT-related fields and calculations will be removed from the relevant WorkNinja workflows.These improvements will also provide a more reliable foundation for integrations with Xero and QuickBooks.
